Unprecedented Government Ammunition Purchases are Backdoor Gun Control

Seemingly every week there’s a new headline reporting that another government agency has made a massive purchase of ammunition. The Department of Homeland Security has led the way purchasing nearly two-billion rounds of ammunition over the last year.

Nearly every major government agency has gotten in on the purchasing frenzy; the Internal Revenue Service (IRS), the Social Security Administration (SSA), Dept. of Forestry and even the guys with pocket protectors at the National Oceanic Atmospheric Administration (NOAA).

The Obama administration claims that all these purchases are normal and that most of the ammunition is for training. If that’s the case, then why the large purchases of hollow point ammunition?

No one trains with hollow point ammunition. For one it’s too costly in comparison to standard ball ammunition. Furthermore it is pointless to train with hollow points because you don’t need stopping power to subdue a piece of paper or a plastic pop-up target.

Of course the internet is abuzz with all manner of conspiracy theories. While I believe some of these theories have merit; primarily that the Obama administration is preparing for civil unrest.

There are far too many credible sources in the military and law enforcement that have substantiated the claim. That being said, I think there’s an even more sinister back-plot to the federal government essentially using taxpayer’s funds to corner the market on bullets.

The real reason for these massive purchases is gun control.

The strategy is brilliant in its simplicity as it uses basic supply side economics as a political weapon. Drive the price of bullets up so high that no one can afford to purchase them. The limited supply also further reduces the availability which also controls the supply, and therefore, guns.

Couple this basic strategy with increased federal regulation with a few simple executive orders and you have taken down the Second Amendment without firing a shot.

There’s a Science to the Art of Communication

Share with your network

Some say communication is an art while others claim it’s a science. James Farwell’s Persuasion and Power, the Art of Strategic Communication proves that there is a science to the art of communication.

Farwell fills this volume with relevant examples of strategic communication pulled straight from today’s headlines as well as significant points in history. He skillfully guides the reader through the types of communication and the effective use of the mediums of dissemination.

If you’re involved in politics, public affairs, business or marketing, I highly recommend you read this book and hope your competition doesn’t.

You can purchase the book from Amazon or Georgetown University

My thanks to Charlotte at the Georgetown University Press for the opportunity to review this outstanding book.

Continuing Evolution of TKC

Share with your network

Taking the oath of office with my family by my side.

Now that I’ve been elected to office, this site will quite naturally undergo a few changes in its continuing evolution. When I look back at the old site I am amazed at how far we’ve come in just a few short years. There was a point during the Occupy Wall Street (OWS) movement when this site was one of the top sites on the internet and I was receiving all sorts of threats.

The OWS threats never worried me too much but if you’re a political writer and you dare say anything negative about islam, rest assured, you will promptly receive death threats from the practitioners of the religion of peace.

I’ve also written a few negative pieces about the Third Reich of Persia, better known as Iran, to which I generally receive at least one threat of violence per week. I think Iran must actually have government employees assigned to comment on negative articles that appear on the internet. God knows it’s not the citizens of Iran since they have no freedom.

Moving forward I’ll obviously be discussing some of the issues that arise in city government but rest assured national politics will still rule the day at TKC. I also muse on pop culture from time to time at another site called 20 Mile Level Road.

As always thanks to my loyal readers and subscribers. I assure you I’ll be posting my sardonic take on geopolitics much more frequently in the coming months.

God Bless the USA and the brave men who defend her

A 2nd Armored Cavalry Regiment base camp along the Czech border in the Fall of 1989 just before the fall of the Berlin Wall.

In August of 1987 my family waited anxiously with me at the gate as I waited to board a plane taking me to U.S. Army Basic Training. I was nervous, excited and a little scared at the adventure that awaited me.

The first few days of basic training are probably the worst because regardless of how much you think you know about the military, there’s little you can do to actually prepare you for the culture shock of entering military service.

Drill sergeants fill every minute of every day with some sort of training leaving very little down time. What little down time we did have was usually spent cleaning, shining or organizing something but every once in a while we had some fun time. One thing my platoon enjoyed was listening to the radio or as our drill sergeant called it, “going to the bar.”

Going to the bar meant we could listen to the radio as long as everyone was in the push-up position, known as the front lean and rest position, with their feet elevated on a support bar of the upper bunk of our beds which was about four feet in the air.

At first these sessions would only last a minute or two but as everyone got stronger, we could usually make it through a couple of songs before guys started to drop. Drill Sergeant Heflin was the brain child of going to the bar and he had great affinity for Lee Greenwood’s beautiful anthem Proud to be an American. In fact, he liked it so much that he made the entire platoon learn the song and often made us regale our instructors with our a cappella rendition.

So for all my fellow brothers in arms, I offer you this salute.

Romney: “I’ve done it before and I’ll do it again”

Share with your network

Governor Romney masterfully defeated President Obama in last night’s debate.

There have been several famous presidential debates throughout American history: Lincoln – Douglas, Kennedy – Nixon, Reagan – Carter, and now Romney – Obama.

Republican nominee Mitt Romney so thoroughly defeated President Obama last night it was reminiscent of a young Mike Tyson knocking out Michael Spinks without ever breaking a sweat. From the opening question Romney scored a standing eight count and continued to mercilessly pound Obama on point after point.

Despite the president having the sizeable advantage of PBS’s, Jim Lehrer moderate the event, there was no question that Mitt Romney was the undisputed winner.

Lehrer, who at times seemed to be like a kindergarten teacher trying to help a bashful child with stage fright get through his lines in the school play, often fed President Obama lines and generally tried to help him respond to questions. The clearly biased Lehrer also allowed President Obama to have four-minutes more talk-time than Mitt Romney but in the end, Romney was clearly more erudite than President Obama.

I found it striking that not one person in the audience clapped for President Obama when he was introduced despite Lehrer urging applause immediately before introducing the participants. Conversely, there was robust applause after Mitt Romney was announced.

Throughout the evening President Obama was glued to his talking points. He repeatedly accused Romney of not elaborating on his plans, however, throughout the night Romney did just that. Romney laid out several specific plans to jump start the economy and put America back to work while masterfully articulating the president’s failures.

One of the most salient moments of the debate was when Mitt Romney took President Obama to task on his massive deficit spending. Romney pointed out that the president promised to cut the debt in half, from $8 trillion to $4 trillion, in his first four years and instead he doubled the debt to $16 trillion. He further drove home the point by saying that it was immoral to run up a debt of this magnitude just as President Obama did when he was a candidate in 2008.

Mitt also scored big when he said the first thing he would do with any government program is to ask the question; is this so important that we should borrow money from China to pay for this?

Often times President Obama could do nothing but nod in agreement with Romney which was simply astounding to watch.

Romney also destroyed the president when they debated the finer points of healthcare.

To begin, the president was quick to point out that he likes that the healthcare law has been called “Obamacare.” From there Romney went on the attack and by the end of the exchange you could have put a giant, red scarlet O on the president’s chest because Romney flat out shamed the president over his healthcare plan.

Romney laid out America’s dire financial situation then said that President Obama, Nancy Pelosi and Harry Reid thought it was more important to force healthcare legislation that the American people didn’t want down are collective throats.

Romney truthfully stated that there will be European style rationing and that Obamacare adds $2500.00 to the cost of the average American’s annual healthcare costs.

Governor Romney also reiterated throughout the evening that President Obama is cutting $716 billion from Medicare. He explained that his plan would allow for “free-market” solutions which are always less expensive and would provide more options for the American people.

Romney also scored big with the Republican base as he spoke frequently of states rights and that the Federal Government’s principle job is to protect and enforce our founding documents.

Romney drove home the point that there will be European style rationing and that Obamacare adds $2500.00 to the cost of the average American’s healthcare coverage.

Romney masterfully juxtaposed the president’s track record of complete partisanship and legislative gridlock by highlighting how he successfully reached across the aisle when he was elected Governor of Massachusetts. Despite having a legislature that was comprised of 87-percent Democrats, he was able to foster relationships with his opposition and lead the state back to prosperity.

“I’ve done it before,” Governor Romney said “and I’ll do it again.”

Obama: “Words Matter”

Share with your network

To steal a phrase from Al Gore, it is an inconvenient truth for President Obama that Words Matter. The video below shows the president making promises juxtaposed with the breaking of those promises. In fact, President Obama has broken so many promises that it took over thirteen minutes to chronicle all of them.

Thanks to SnorkelDogg for producing this great video.

Sorry Mr. President but We’ve Heard it All Before

Share with your network

Even the president knows his policies have failed.

This week the DNC is hosting their national convention and they are going to try and convince the American people that we should double down and bet on the failed policies of the last four years. Well I’m sorry Mr. President but we’ve heard it all before.

Check out the video below and you’ll see that President Obama has been championing the same tired rhetoric for four years now. The fact is, America is in far worse shape under Obama’s leadership. End of discussion.

George Stephanopoulos says there is no media bias

Share with your network

Left-wing media weasel George Stephanopoulos says there’s no such thing as media bias.

Over at Brietbart they have video of a reporter from the Media Research Center asking liberal George Stephanopoulos if he believes there is any bias in the media. The little weasel half-heartedly says “no,” then asks where the reporter is from and upon finding out, abruptly ends the interview.

I guess if you’re a socialist and a member of the state-run media you don’t consider it bias when you blatantly push an anti-American agenda. After all, to the left-wing subversive lying is just another means to an end. That end is the complete collapse of America as we know it and they are dangerously close to achieving their goal.

To stop them, it is not enough to just go out and vote. You must be engaged. You must educate your circle of influence. And you must convince your circle to vote. It is going to take several elections to correct all the damage of the last six years.

Check out the brief 0:23 second video here.

Via: HANSON (CBS) – Free speech or offensive?

Those are two viewpoints regarding three political billboards in Hanson that are getting the attention of everyone who drives by Sullivans Inc., a motorcycle accessories distributor off Route 27.

WBZ NewsRadio 1030′s Karen Twomey reports

One shows a little girl raising her middle finger next to the message:

“Thanks Obama. You’ve spent my lunch money, my allowance, my inheritance, 35 years of future paychecks and my retirement. You Jerk. Vote Mitt Romney For 2012!”

The finger is now covered in packing tape.

Some people say the sign makes them uncomfortable.

Federal court rejects Texas voter ID law

Share with your network

If there was ever any doubt that the Democrats are going to pull out all the stops to keep President Obama in the White House you need look no further than today’s ruling from Washington D.C.

The Houston Chronicle is reporting that a three judge panel has ruled against Texas’ Voter ID law. The judges stated that the law places ”strict, unforgiving burdens on the poor.”

It doesn’t matter that these same poor people have to show identification for hundreds of other things from getting into a rated R movie to cashing a check. As always you can count on liberal judges to legislate from the bench rather than follow the rule of law.

Couple this news with the rampant reports of voter registration fraud around the country and November’s election has disaster written all over it.
