Wall Street Protesters Trample American Flag

Wall Street protesters show nothing but contempt for America - Photo By LUCAS JACKSON, PHOTOGRAPHER/REUTERS

Earlier this week I posted pictures highlighting the difference between the Tea Party and the Occupy Wall Street protesters. If that didn’t make you question the patriotism of these protesters, maybe this will. A new photograph has surfaced that shows Occupy Wall Street protesters trampling the American flag, showing utter disrespect and contempt for all the men who have fought and died to protect their freedom.

That is not an American flag.

    • Todd says:

Yes it is. Look at it blown up, its lying on the ground backwards and has some folds in it.

      • danieljacobjingleheimer says:

I’ve never seen an American flag that has 12 stripes.

If it has a fold in it and a white stripe is concealed where the thick red stripe is in the photo, that would make it a 14 stripe flag.

I’ve never seen an American flag that has 14 stripes, either.

        • Todd says:

Keep justifying yourself all you want. You know its a flag and you still won’t condemn the act or the people doing it. Your sad and pathetic.

  4. Jrad says:

I just know what my countries flag actually looks like. Maybe you should go back to grade school. Fifth graders know how many stripes their flag has…

    • Todd says:

As do I. I have 3 of them in my office including one that flew in combat. Keep justifying yourself all you want. You know its a flag and you still won’t condemn the act or the people doing it. Your sad and pathetic and I can’t believe I fought a war to defend the rights of seditious vermin like you.

Thanks for visiting, please come again.

        LOL

    • Todd says:

Even the photographer who took the picture says its a flag if you would have bothered to check the link.

You give new meaning to myopic.

  5. Jrad says:

My brother is fighting in Afghanistan right now you pussy, and even he thinks you’re ignorant. A flag is a VERY Defined object, There are cheap imitations. AKA the thing that guy is treading on. You can buy and American flag beach towel. Quit being such a condescending prick, it doesn’t look good on you.

    • Susan says:

Whether it’s a beach towel or the real American flag, the point is that it “symbolizes” the American Flag. No other country has a flag remotely like ours.
And to stand on it, trample it, burn it, or disrespect it shows that he and any other OWS are wrong to do this. Even if you dislike some things going on this is the ultimate slap to America and that person should leave this country. We don’t want or need hatred like this!!!!

  6. Kate says:

The U.S. flag consists of thirteen equal horizontal stripes of red (top and bottom) alternating with white, with a blue rectangle, bearing fifty small, white, five-pointed stars arranged in nine offset horizontal rows of six stars (top and bottom) alternating with rows of five stars. The fifty stars on the flag represent the 50 states and the 13 stripes represent the thirteen colonies that rebelled against the British monarchy and became the first states in the Union.

If this was a legitimate U.S. flag it wouldn’t have that wide red stripe in the middle area.

  7. R L says:

it makes no difference what flag it is. the disrespectfull intent is obvious.

  8. Oh Really? says:

    “the disrespectfull intent is obvious”???
Um no, actually it’s not. At least not to the American flag, which as many have already pointed out, it is not. Let’s put it this way- If the people at these protests wanted to walk on American flags, they could buy them just about anywhere and do that. There’s no shortage on REAL American flags, particularly at OWS.
Just visit Youtube to see numerous protesters getting thier flags ripped out of thier hands and trampled by police during thier arrests. In one video a protester even gets the pole of his flag snapped by a cop.
If anything, I’ll now try to help the confused see things a bit clearer by thinking on a slightly deeper level-
Could it be that perhaps the flag in the above photo being walked on is a fake American flag because… get ready for it… the protesters are individuals who don’t see the US as what it could be, or is supposed to be?

That could very well make some sense, since they’re seen flying very real flags, and walking on fake ones.

  9. Oh Really? says:

And by the way Todd, just because there are those why may not agree with you or see the world the way you tell them they should, it doesn’t make them liberals.
It may actually just mean they think.

    • Todd says:

I know a socialist when I see one. They can hide behind innocuous sounding words like progressive, left-wing, and liberal, however, they are synonyms for socialist plain and simple. We should have heeded the warning of brave men like General Patton and Senator McCarthy who knew we would someday be at this point – the point where our society is so thoroughly perverted with socialists that the enemy is now within. Sadly, America may have to fight a second Civil War to rid ourselves of this left-wing cancer.

      Have a nice day.

      • Oh Really? says:

I agree with your views regarding left wing socialists Todd, and yes some may still hide and lable themselves as something they’re not. It does seem however that over the years many of them have shown thier true colors and seem rather open about thier ideals, no matter how flawed some may be.
Although I generally tend to not agree with socialist political ideals and thus don’t consider myself one, I must say that at least I’ve got a bit more respect for the honesty of those previously mentioned socialists that gravitate toward the left, over the sad and poor acting of those Socialists that gravitate toward the right and pretend they’re conservatives with the best interest of the people in mind, along with the shameful and pathetic tranlucency of thier flawed and out dated propaganda machine.

You could have just given it a title like “Wall Street Protesters Trample Something That Sort Of Somewhat Resembles An American Flag, Almost Maybe” and then left it alone.
At least you’d have been telling it like it is, and wouldn’t have had to grasp at straws leaving all those comical little comments in defense of the delusional perspective you wish to project.
