Obama: “Words Matter”

Share with your network

To steal a phrase from Al Gore, it is an inconvenient truth for President Obama that Words Matter. The video below shows the president making promises juxtaposed with the breaking of those promises. In fact, President Obama has broken so many promises that it took over thirteen minutes to chronicle all of them.

Thanks to SnorkelDogg for producing this great video.

There are reports on this site from NASA saying the opposite so which one is right? I believe climates run in cycles and nature, not man, is controlling the temperature variances.
      Thanks for stopping by.

“The results confirm greenhouse gases produced by human activities are the most important driver of global climate change, according to the researchers.”

“Hansen noted that “the sun is a small but not negligible factor,” in determining the size of the imbalance. Over the past decade, the imbalance declined slightly due, in part, to the solar minimum, according to Hansen.”

“Saying the opposite”? Sir, they were assigning degree, not contradiction. Understand the distinction?

“I believe climates run in cycles and nature, not man, is controlling the temperature variances.”-

Oh, YOU’RE the ONE. But seriously, EVERYONE understands “climates run in cycles”, so no controversy or argumentative worth to be found there. And most also understand that the Earth, short of some cosmic calamity, isn’t going anywhere. You see, this whole “save-the earth” business is an unfortunate misnomer(at least in these politically charged times, anyway) as our beloved planet will coldly shed its humanity if it meant a precipitous return to atmospheric equilibrium. No, the real question is whether human actions have an ACUTE EFFECT ON THE QUALITY OF LIFE FOR THOSE WHO HAVE THE COGNITION TO CHAMPION SUCH A CAUSE. And the answer, of course, is a resounding YES. Tell me, can lakes be spoiled by industrial pollution? Can drinking water be tainted by aquifer disruption? So on and so forth. So what makes you naively “believe”(an invocation of your (blind)faith?) that such man-made deleterious consequences can’t be found on the macro level? See, that sort of myopic thinking just screams scientific dilettante. Listen, I’m no eco-activist(though I appreciate their efforts) or some browbeating environmental scientist seeking to ensure ongoing blank-check funding from “big government, bleeding-heart” office-holding political types. But I am a mathematician, and as such, an unrelenting seeker of unequivocal truth. A concept that is apparently foreign to you in many of your misrepresentative musings. At best, you have no idea what you’re talking about. Worst? An unrepentant liar. Or maybe both.

Look, no one wants dirty air or water. I’m an Ironman Triathlete so I spend a great deal of time outdoors.

You say you seek truth yet I can show you another report from the same body you are citing as a source which says the exact opposite – so which is true?

Is NASA trying to have it both ways so that they can claim they were right one way or another?

Look at the greenhouse gases that are released by volcanoes. Often one eruption can put more GHG into the atmosphere than man can in a century. Think about the times of increased volcanic activity throughout the world’s history. Our impact is minimal in comparison yet you call me myopic.

When will the green movement start protesting the two largest offenders in the world – China and India?

Thanks for the civil tone. I run a PG site and appreciate the friendly debate.

What are we if not civil…

Truthfully, though, I peppered in some cheap shots. Thanks for “not noticing”. Unless you were being facetious…in which case…touché.

            Have a great evening.
